Get ready to race those ruby slippers up Broad Street for another spectacular summer of films and fun! Join us for the 14th PIGLFF from July 10th to the 22nd along with honorees Jane Lynch and Alec Mapa, queer punk pioneers Pansy Division, and 25,000 of your friends and neighbors at the East Coast’s largest LGBT film event!

Tomfoolery Ensues at Closing Night!
The 14th Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival kicked off with a scream and floated out on a song. A packed house was enthralled by the screening of Were the World Mine, which was preceded by our Festival favorites Michaela Majoun and Robert Drake presenting this year’s awards. Congratulations to:

OPENING & CLOSING NIGHT FILM TICKETS ON SALE NOW!  [7.8.08]
This year you won’t have to wait on the stand-by line for your Opening and Closing Night screening tickets – the $15 film-only tickets are now on sale via phone, web, and stores. Combo tickets for both nights are still available, and party-only tickets can be purchased at the door.

FLATMATES ADDED TO PUPPY LOVE SHORTS PROGRAM   [7.8.08]
The screening of Breath will be replaced with Flatmates: (Norway, 2007, 21 min, Magnus Mork) A young gay man is in love with his straight, though playfully homoerotic, roommate. One night, he makes a move that is bound to have a serious effect on their relationship.

OUT AND PROUD PANELISTS ANNOUNCED   [7.3.08]
This discussion about being LGBT in the film industry will include Jane Lynch, recipient of this year’s Artistic Achievement Award; Charlie David, actor, writer, and producer for Mulligans; Carol Coombes, Program/Festival Director, Miami GLFF; and returning filmmakers Casper Andreas and Stewart Wade. WHEN KIRAN MET KAREN VENUE CHANGE   [7.2.08]
Due to the flood of sales for the world premiere of When Kiran Met Karen, the screening on Saturday, July 12th at 9:30pm has been moved from the Black Box to the main screen at the Prince Theater. Tickets already purchased do not require an exchange – just show up!

WHO DOESN’T LIKE VIP TREATMENT?   [6.23.08]
Have you always wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes? Hoped to meet all the stars? Well this year you have the unique opportunity to experience a whole new side of the Festival. In addition to priority seating at all films and admission to all public events, the new VIP badge will have you elbow-to-elbow with Festival guests and other VIPs in private homes and other intimate places! (No pun intended.)

MEET THE PROGRAMMERS   [6.20.08]
Festival programmers Kelly Burkhardt, Scott Cranin, Larry Ferber and Lewis Tice will be on hand for this open forum for audience questions, comments and curiosities.

Join us Thursday, June 26th * 7:00pm – 8:00pm at William Way Community Center, 1315 Spruce Street. This event is free and open to the public.
